The project will strengthen the education and outreach capacities of the African partners in creating the necessary conditions for a sustainable application of biotechnology in food production in Kenya, Nigeria and Burkina Faso.
The project aims to achieve this by the joint elaboration of Master level courses and outreach events and materials.
The expertise of the African partners’ academic staff will be upgraded in the application of biotechnology in food production with the aim of creating the capacity to deliver 120 hours of up-to-date, pre-tested Master’s level courses in this field as well as an enhanced public outreach capacity.
Faculty and support staff will also be trained in project management and financial administration. Partner departments will also be upgraded with new equipment.
