Enhanced food security PNG - Results Factsheet

The genetic research project involving two widely cultivated crops in Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands - aibika (Pacific or slippery cabbage, Abelmoschus manihot) and sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) - achieved the following:

- Research protocols for mutation breeding.

- Mutation breeding protocols for aibika seed and sweet potato cuttings, and putative mutants assessed for tolerance to abiotic stresses.

- New salinity-tolerant aibika and potentially frost-tolerant sweet potato genotypes identified.

Boas práticas em agricultura de precisão em países em desenvolvimento - A experiência do Projecto AgIM

The AgIM (Agriculture Information Management and Precision Farming) Project published a book on good practices in precision farming in developing countries. The book publishes the abstracts and main conclusions developed by the students dissertations, both from Cape Verde and Mozambique and presentations from conferences organized by the project on the precision farming subject.


Erasmus+ is the European Union's programme for education, training, youth and sport. Each year the programme selects new projects under a call for proposals. The 2018 Call for Proposals was launched on 25 October 2017, with deadlines in 2018. Higher education institutions and individuals from ACP countries are able to take part in the four components of the programme described in this brochure.
